If you peek in between the layers of that nightmare over there, past the line of fantasy and into the illusion from which all deceptions are born, you will find Dr. Ramsey. He lives there, where the water falls up but people grow down, eventually embedding their tired bodies into the purple ground, feet first so when the earth claims their skulls, grass grows through follicles, reaching for the sky. The Doctor spends his days treating these men and women as a missionary, but he’s more a mercenary, directing health, wealth and power. He manages their lives, and then, when Death knocks ever so soon on their doors, set haphazardly into crumbling houses, the good doctor takes their fleshy shells and sets them out in rows. Dr. Ramsey knows the casual breath that whips around a stethoscope, and he can walk the practiced lines a scalpel makes in skin while sleeping. Of course, the truth behind the mystery is, although the man makes a good doctor, Ramsey always fancied himself as a botanist.
This 6S was chosen to be a part of the new 6S anthology also titled The Mysterious Dr. Ramsey. The book is available for purchase on CreateSpace.
